Reputation vs. Character

"Your reputation is merely an illusion if it is not a mirror image of your character"

Many times we spend so much energy and time developing who we want others to think we are, or we try so hard to be seen in a certain light that we miss out on truly developing who we really are. The person we are when there is no one watching, the person we are when we are not on stage or on the field or upfront. A true leader is the same person no matter who they are with, where they are.

Today, instead of focusing on your reputation (what other's think about you) spend some time developing and shaping your character (who you really are).

You guys rock!
See you tomorrow!

Leaders!

Leadership is not in titles...it is found in influence

Keep in mind this week that to lead others to Christ and through a relationship with Christ is your greatest calling in life. To ability to do this does not come with a title or position given in church or FCA, it comes from the power of God made real in your life through your own relationship with Christ. You can't lead where you have not been. People don't genuinely follow someone they see as not genuine. They follow real people who have passion and have been in their shoes. Remember that every time you step foot on to the campus of Ridgeland High school or onto the football fields, or whenever you are hanging out with friends off campus, you are to lead. That seems like a huge responsibility...and it is. But remember this, your success or failure in leading will come directly from you success or failure of following Christ personally.

The disciples were only successful leading because they were successful following
Read Mark 1:14-20

What was the reaction of the disciples to Jesus' call?
What did they leave behind?
